Institutional Attendance Policy

Paul Mitchell The School Twin Falls has a minimum monthly attendance of 85%. This means students can miss no more than 240 clock hours (cosmetology), 135 clock hours (barber), 225 clock hours (barber stylist), 60 clock hours (nail technology), 90 clock hours (nail technology 600 hours), 90 hours (esthetics), 135 clock hours (student instructor training 900), 75 clock hours (student instructor training 500) and in absent hours before being dropped from the program for failing to meet their contractual obligation to the school.

Students are expected to utilize the 15% allowed absent hours for normal challenges that come up in their lives: time off with family, sick time, unexpected personal challenges, etc.

Hours missed and not scheduled as make up hours with the Future Professional Advisor are considered “absent hours” and count towards the 15% allowed absent hours.

If a students maximum amount of time under the contracted scheduled end date has expired and the student has not completed the required clock hours, the student may be withdrawn from the program. At that time the student can re-enroll in the program for the remaining clock hours under a new contract and additional costs. If a student is receiving GI benefits and withdraws from the program they will lose eligibilty for the GI Bill®, but may still be eligible to re-enroll using an alternate funding source.

Scheduled hours are not impacted by school closings, such as snow days, etc. If a student is impacted by any of these occurrences, their actual program end date will be adjusted according to the contract.
